Bangladesh Save A Life Healthcare Appeal
This year, over 113,000 children will die in Bangladesh before they can reach the age of 5 from preventable diseases, of those, 93,000 will not even reach their first birthday.
The rural nature of Bangladesh means that many villages remain isolated and have poor access to healthcare. Due to this remoteness, maternal healthcare is completely inaccessible meaning that 75% of all births in rural Bangladesh do not have a skilled attendant during delivery.
The rural areas of Zakiganj has an estimated population of 150,000 and is one of the poorest regions of the Sylhet Division. With no access to primary healthcare, they must travel miles to the nearest Upazila Clinic for basic medical needs and family planning services.
Working alongside our partners in Bangladesh, Shifa Clinic will provide a broad range of services from maternal healthcare to counselling to ensure that communities are empowered to grow and develop.

Professionally trained doctors and nurses will be available to offer free expert treatment and advice to anyone in the district, providing a lifeline for thousands of people living in abject poverty.

A clinic for the people
Salam Charity has began work on a clinic providing free health care to thousands of impoverished families in Mansurpur, Jakiganj.
Yet the journey has only just begun. To make sure that we can provide lifesaving healthcare to those living in extreme hardship, an extra £25,000 is needed to complete the clinic.
With an ever-growing population and limited resources, Mansurpur is in desperate need of a medical clinic. The inhabitants of the village must travel miles for the nearest health complex and often cannot afford the treatment.
Salam Charity & MWF will provide free primary healthcare for everyone and save countless lives.
Planning to open our doors to the public in January 2020, there is still much to do. Please give what you can to complete this vital clinic and you can give the gift of life.
